The most predominant household composition type in Australia is one family households with only family members present with 62.6% of households being this type. This has shown little change compared to 2016, where the type also made up 62.2% of households. Lone person households saw the largest increase in its proportion between 2016 and 2021 growing from 22.8% to 24.2%.
