Quarterly update of visitor and visitor night estimates for daytrip, overnight intrastate and overnight interstate visitors. The latest data is reported for Quarter 1 2021.
Domestic visitor data is informed by the National Visitor Survey (NVS), which is the major source of information on the characteristics and travel patterns of domestic tourists. It measures travel for all reasons, including holiday and leisure travel, business travel and travel to visit friends and/or relatives. Respondents interviewed in the NVS are representative of the Australian population, based on place of residence, age and sex. Data is reported quarterly for the periods of September 1998 to March 2021 in DataAU.
